James has over a decade of experience working in commercial roles within the energy industry for leading companies such as RWE, EDF, Pexapark, and now Brookfield. At Brookfield, James specialises in managing strategic relationships with global power consumers within the centralised Key Account Management function. He also supports Brookfield’s portfolio companies in negotiating and executing structured power deals, such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
Gauri is a project finance specialist and senior director in Siemen Bank’s project and structured finance team. She has more than 20 years of in-depth experience in the energy and renewables sector. She has led deal teams on a number of notable transactions in the UK and Europe ranging across all technologies from wind (onshore and offshore), solar, biomass, WtE, biogas, hydro and complimentary infrastructure including batteries and flexible generation.
She has led on a number of landmark transactions including platform financings for Ventient Energy, Octopus Energy, Greencoat Wind, NTR, LightsourceBP, JPMAM, Saeta Yield, EIP and other clients for multiple technologies to grow cross-border renewable portfolios. These transactions have involved a mix of offtake structures and project pipelines in various stages of development. Gauri is focussed on the energy transition through established technologies but also working on carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and green fuels including decarbonisation of hard to abate sectors.
Prior to joining Siemens, Gauri was Head of Energy at Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management for 3 years, having previously worked in the Project Finance at Natwest (formerly RBS) for 14 years. As a thought leader in the sector she is a regular speaker on panels and at conferences.
Giles has 15 years’ experience in the renewable energy and storage industry. Previously as Director at Savills, he helped set up and lead the roll out of solar rooftop investment for private and institutional clients. More recently, he was CEO and founder at Cambridge Power who developed one of the leading distribution connected battery storage portfolios in the UK.
Ms. Smith-Maxwell has successfully advised on more than 4GW of renewable energy power projects including onshore wind, solar and biomass technologies. Her clean technology expertise includes behind the meter storage and battery manufacture technologies
Rosalind was a Vice President at Fieldstone Private Capital Group between 2015 and 2020, where she focussed on transactions located in Europe and Africa. Prior to joining Fieldstone she was at Climate Change Capital for seven and a half years
She holds a BSc in Genetics from the University of Edinburgh, and was called to the Bar in 2009, after being awarded the Jules Thorn scholarship by Middle Temple
Simon has over 25 years’ M&A, corporate finance and private equity experience in London and Edinburgh. He started his career at Rothschild in the late 1990s and spent the first 8 years of his career working across multiple sectors before his passion for the environment led him to specialise in renewable energy in 2007.
Prior to joining Aukera Simon was the Chief Investment Officer at Red Rock Power, an Edinburgh-based onshore and offshore wind developer, and before that he was a member of the European Renewable Energy team at The Carlyle Group.
NPM Europe editor Peter Kneller has been covering European renewables investment & financing activity since 2010. He launched breaking news service Energy Rev in 2017, which was subsequently acquired by US-based New Project Media at the end of 2023. He now heads up NPM’s European editorial team, which provides proprietary energy transition financing and M&A coverage and tracks project development at a granular level.
Stefano is the CEO of NatPower UK, one of the largest renewable energy developers in the UK. Its 60GWh pipeline of battery storage projects makes it the largest portfolio of storage in the country.
Stefano has over 20 years’ experience in the energy transition space. Prior to founding NatPower, he was very early to the sector, setting up one of the first wind and solar companies in Southern Europe, Enexon, in 2005, followed by NextEnergy, an FCA regulated asset manager specialising in renewable energy, in 2007, and WiseEnergy, a global smart renewables operator and investor with $5.6bn of asset value served, in 2008.
He has also worked as a professor at the Universita Bocconi in Milan, one of the world’s leading universities and business schools (SDA Bocconi), lecturing and researching on Strategic Planning & Control and Business Process Design.
Jack has 10 years experience in the energy industry, predominantly focused on project finance off-take agreements in GB. He previously worked as a utility and corporate PPA originator for SmartestEnergy and Centrica. Jack also has experience in M&A and in the energy markets team at a boutique investment bank, advising clients on their off-take arrangements alongside the raising of senior financing for client’s portfolios. Jack joined Pexapark in 2022 and advises on PPA transactions across Europe. He holds a Master of Mathematics and Physics and Bachelor of Science from the University of Warwick.
Sulaiman is Head of Policy and Strategy for Renewable Delivery at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero
Sulaiman previously served as a Policy Fellow at University of Cambridge Centre for Science and Policy and has a BA at Oxford, MPhil at Cambridge.
Jean-Baptiste Delattre joined the Renewable Energy team in January 2018 as Principal. He began his career in 2006, leading the Maintenance team at an ArcelorMittal site. After that he went on to take over the central team responsible for the Group’s global energy supplies. Before joining Omnes Capital, he was in charge of Strategic Energy Partnerships, notably for cogeneration plants and energy efficiency projects in Europe. Jean-Baptiste Delattre is a graduate of the Centrale Supélec engineering school and also holds an Executive MBA from London Business School.
James is a partner in Gowling WLG's energy practice. He advises clients on a wide range of complex commercial and regulatory matters in the energy sector. James has over 15 years' experience in the energy sector and has a detailed knowledge of energy sector legislation, industry codes and incentive schemes. James advises a wide spectrum of energy market participants, including market leading offtakers, major utilities, energy traders, suppliers, network owners and operators, lenders, developers and managers of industry codes.
Lee has been advising on renewable projects in the UK and internationally for over a decade. Before Statkraft he worked at a number of international law firms specialising in power and renewable infrastructure projects, regulatory reform in the energy sector and commercial arrangements for energy projects. At Statkraft he advises on the full project lifecycle, from development through construction and operations, for Statkraft’s pipeline of wind, solar and energy storage assets in Europe. He also supports Statkraft’s new energies and market operations business areas in the UK and globally.
Phil is passionate about helping large companies build their renewable energy strategies and implement Power Purchase Agreements, thereby bringing new zero carbon power onto the grid and fighting climate change. He has worked in many different countries and enjoys the challenge of understanding new markets.
Phil is also the Senior Advisor for EY’s Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Indices (RECAI).
Robert is a Co-founder & Partner at CleanCap. Founded in 2024, CleanCap is a newly formed alternative investment manager focussed on investing development capital into portfolios of early-stage renewable energy projects in Europe. Prior to starting CleanCap Robert was an investment professional at Renewable Power Capital (RPC), CPP Investments’ onshore European renewables investment platform which has committed in excess of €2.5bn to onshore wind, solar and BESS across Europe. Prior to RPC, he worked at Augusta & Co, a leading independent financial adviser in the renewables industry. He holds an MA (hons) in Economics & Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh.
Adam is a Principal in Asper’s investment team with a focus on investments into renewable generation and flexibility in Ireland and GB. Adam joined Asper in 2018 and has worked on several transactions across Asper’s district heating and power generation platforms including fundraising, acquisitions, financings and exits.
Adam holds a first class BSc and MSc in Physics from University College London, where his focus was on high energy particle theory.
Will is a Partner in Gowling WLG's London corporate team with a particular focus on advising clients looking to develop or invest in projects in the renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure sectors. Prior to joining Gowling WLG, he trained and qualified as a projects lawyer focusing on the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects before specialising as a corporate lawyer. This breadth of experience gives him a strong understanding of the types of issues that often arise in projects-related transactions and enables him to provide creative, succinct and pragmatic advice to clients.

Joy Vickers is a seasoned professional energy procurement practitioner with a rich background in managing energy commodity markets, energy retail contracting, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Gas Purchase Agreements (GPAs). Currently working within the global energy procurement team at AstraZeneca as an Associate Director; Joy is instrumental in supporting the organization’s decarbonization initiatives and driving the development of innovative PPAs that align with AstraZeneca’s sustainability goals.
Throughout her career, Joy has excelled in various roles, including indirect procurement and energy category management, leveraging her expertise to support energy intensive end users across diverse sectors such as pharmaceutical manufacturing, food manufacturing, Cement and Construction manufacturing, retail, charities, and professional energy consultant services throughout the UK, Europe, and the USA.
