Joel Burghoff is an Associate Director in the Energy Europe team within the Sustainable Infrastructure Group at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). With more than 20 years of relevant finance industry practice, Christian is an experienced executive with demonstrated infrastructure financing skills and client coverage expertise. His work focuses mainly on establishing and developing long-term partnerships with the largest infrastructure investors and thus sourcing new business opportunities in various segments. His role is critical to develop the bank’s ambition to act as a lead bank, taking on underwriter and bookrunner roles in large-scale infrastructure transactions, and to diversify its portfolio into new sectors.
Christian holds a degree in international business administration (Diplom-Kaufmann) from European Business School and is a Certified Corporate Consultant.
With over 21 years of experience in the infrastructure sector, Thomas established Eight Advisory’s Hamburg office in 2021 and now leads the Infrastructure, Energy & Project Finance practice in the DACH region. He works closely with the Infrastructure and Project Finance teams in Paris and London, ensuring seamless cross-border expertise.
He specialises in financial structuring and debt raising, tender advice, and financial modelling, with a particular focus on renewable energies, energy transition, digital and transport infrastructure. Ulan Harrison-Davies is a Senior Reporter on NPM’s European data centre team, covering the sector end-to-end, from planning and construction through to M&A, and financing. Severin Hiller (Co-Head & Partner of Credit) brings over two decades of infrastructure experience. Severin joined Qualitas Energy in early 2024 to co-head the Firm’s new energy transition credit product.
From 2014 to 2023, Severin was Partner and Co-Head of Infrastructure Debt at Rivage Investment in Paris. Under his leadership, Rivage Investment became the ninth largest manager of infrastructure debt funds globally, deploying nearly €5 billion across 122 transactions spanning 14 European countries.
Before his tenure at Rivage, Severin served as an Investment Director at Hadrian’s Wall Capital, where he focused on originating and executing junior infrastructure debt transactions. Prior to that, he played a key role in developing the global infrastructure advisory business at Campbell Lutyens. In an earlier role as Vice President at MBIA UK Insurance Ltd, Severin was responsible for originating, executing, and closing numerous infrastructure and asset-backed transactions throughout Europe.
Philipp is the founder of GreenCap. He spent the major portion of his business career in investment banking with focus on the renewable energy sector. Prior to founding GreenCap, Philipp was a director at renewable energy focused investment bank Augusta & Co. Previously, he worked as Vice President in the Energy Investments team of J.P. Morgan. He also serves as chairman of the non-profit organisation WikiRate which he founded in 2010. Philipp is a CFA Charter holder and speaks German, English and French.
NPM Europe editor Peter Kneller has been covering European renewables investment & financing activity since 2010. He launched breaking news service Energy Rev in 2017, which was subsequently acquired by US-based New Project Media at the end of 2023. He now heads up NPM’s European editorial team, which provides proprietary energy transition financing and M&A coverage and tracks project development at a granular level.
Georg is a Senior Transaction Manager at RWE and responsible for investments, divestments and partnerships in the German market for onshore wind, solar PV and battery storage. Prior to joining RWE, he was mainly active on the buyside acquiring renewable energy projects in Europe for Encavis AG and the Hamburg-based infrastructure asset manager Luxcara. He joined the business in 2021 when it was operating as Energy Rev and has been covering the renewables project finance and M&A space at various titles for the past 10 years.
Johannes previously headed the strategy & business development Germany for Second Foundation, dealing with Ancillary Service Provision and grid operator topics like FCA. Before this he was state parliamentarian on energy policy as well as heading the strategic business development team of EPC company Adler Smart Solutions.

Stefan Müller, COO and shareholder of ENERPARC is responsible for sales activities, international business, marketing and business development. He began his career, which goes back over 20 years, in the solar industry in 1992 at a renowned solar company in Germany. During the last eight years before his departure to be an entrepreneur, Stefan Müller held international management positions and lived, among other countries, in India, Spain and Singapore. Stefan has a global network in the solar industry and his expertise makes him a sought-after speaker for conferences and panels.
Maria is an experienced leader in the energy industry with over a decade of expertise, specializing in the European energy markets. A double graduate of Bocconi University, her career includes key roles at Magnus Commodities, Nexus Energía, and Renantis SpA, where she advanced renewable energy initiatives and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Amanda has over 10 years of experience as an energy consultant, energy analyst and economist with expertise in power markets and trading strategies for new energy types in Australia, Europe and the US. Amanda provided power market and energy risk management training to over 100 energy stakeholders throughout Europe, Australia and Asia.
Amanda joined Ingrid Capacity to build the commercial steer of the business. Amanda has worked previously at BKW, a Swiss Utility, to build the PPA business across Europe. Previously, Amanda also worked for Pexapark as a Senior consultant specialised in commercial energy risk management.
Adrian Pawelec is a Partner and Head of Legal at Marguerite, a pan European infrastructure investment fund manager with offices in Luxembourg, Paris, and Milan. In this role, he oversees the legal aspects of Marguerite’s investment, divestment, and fundraising activities.
Adrian joined Marguerite upon its inception in 2010, bringing with him more than 12 years of transactional experience gained at leading international law firms, including White & Case, Weil, Gotshal & Manges, and Baker McKenzie. Ivo Prokopiev is founder and CEO of the Vienna-based Renalfa Solarpro Group (https://www.renalfa.com/), a vertically integrated innovative clean energy and e-mobility investment company in Eastern Europe. The group was one of the pioneers in introducing long duration BESS and hybrid business models for renewables to the market in Europe.

Diana Saldarriaga is the Co-Head of Origination Project & Structured Finance Europe at Siemens Bank, based in Munich. Diana has been with Siemens Bank for 10 years. Ruben Valiente is the Managing Director of Maxxen, a leading European player in the energy storage sector. With more than 25 years of international experience in the energy transition industry, he has held senior roles in global multinationals including GE and ABB, as well as founding several energy start-ups.
An engineer graduating cum laude and an MBA holder from IESE Business School, Ruben combines deep technical expertise with strong commercial, strategic, and operational leadership. His experience spans the full energy value chain, including project development and finance, EPC and O&M, R&D, product innovation, and manufacturing.
Throughout his career, he has focused on accelerating the deployment of clean energy solutions and scaling technologies that support the global energy transition.
Nadiya Vargola is a Head of BESS Business Development at Alpiq, where she leads the strategic expansion of large-scale energy storage projects across key European markets. With over 17 years of experience in the energy and financial sectors, she brings deep expertise in M&A, strategy execution, and business development in RES and energy storage.
Under her leadership, Alpiq’s BESS portfolio has grown to gigawatt scale through acquired and secured projects. Nadiya is recognised for building strong cross-functional partnerships and successfully navigating complex international transactions in a rapidly evolving energy market.
Nadiya holds an MBA from Purdue University and has completed executive education at INSEAD
Mathieu has 15 years of experience in renewable energy transactions; joined GoldenPeaks Capital in September 2025, as VP of Origination.
Previously to joining GPC, Mathieu reviewed, structured and executed in excess of 3,000MW of energy off-take agreements from solar, onshore and offshore wind sources as well as BESS across multiple European countries: Italy, Germany, Iberia, Great Britain, France, the Nordics and Poland.
Prior to GPC, Mathieu kickstarted and scaled the PPA Advisory business for Pexapark for 6.5 years, and had a decade of experience on the investment and financing side of the renewable energies: he worked with NTR plc (an Irish renewable investment fund) and with Etrion (a Swiss solar IPP). Mathieu started his career in Acquisition Finance with Société Générale CIB.
