Peggy Flannery is a Managing Director on the Investment Team at Generate Capital, where she helps build and lead the firm’s community solar investment strategy. Peggy has led Generate’s community solar investment strategy over the last 5 years, building over 200 MW of project, and has 17 years of experience in renewable energy and finance. Prior to Generate Peggy was a director at SunEdision. She holds a BA from Columbia University in Environmental Science and Mathematics.
Mr. Monteiro is the Chief Executive Officer of EDPR NA Distributed Generation (“EDPR NA DG”), the distributed generation business unit of EDP Renewables North America.
He has been a Board member of EDP Comercial, the retail unit of the EDP Group in Portugal, since 2018. Within EDP Comercial, Mr. Monteiro was responsible for the solar distributed generation and community solar business. He had specific oversight of the businesses’ B2C segment, business sales channels, field operations and overall customer digital interface strategy.
Mr. Monteiro began his professional career as a consultant at Mercer Management Consulting (currently Oliver Wyman), between 1997 and 2000. He later worked in Corporate Development and in Investor Relations for ParaRede, during the IT company’s turnaround period between 2001 and 2003. Between 2004 and 2017, Mr. Monteiro joined the Portugal Telecom Group where he worked in several areas, ranging from product management and field services to international business development and digital transformation. In 2015, he assumed the role of Head of Planning and Control, and in 2017, became CFO of the Group in Portugal. During this period, Mr. Monteiro was also a member of the Board of Directors of several subsidiary companies.
He holds a degree in Economics from NOVA School of Business and Economics.
Brian Granahan is the Acting Director of the Illinois Power Agency (IPA), an independent state agency tasked with developing energy procurement plans, conducting energy, capacity, and renewables procurement events, developing solar energy incentive programs, and providing financial incentives for the continued operation of at-risk nuclear plants. As the Acting Director, he oversees the development and implementation of plans to procure electricity and clean energy resources for customers of Illinois electric utilities. This includes development of the IPA’s Long-Term Renewable Resources Procurement Plan, which outlines the state’s approach to supporting new community solar projects, as well as overseeing programs providing incentives to support those projects.
Previously, Brian served as IPA’s Chief Legal Counsel, beginning with the Agency in April 2014. In this role, he oversaw a variety of legal, policy, and strategic responsibilities for the IPA, including serving as the Agency’s legislative liaison and representative in negotiations around the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (2021) and the Future Energy Jobs Act (2016). Brian began his career as an associate with Sidley Austin LLP and worked as clean energy advocate and staff attorney with Environment Illinois before shifting to the public sector and serving as a policy advisor to two Chairmen at the Illinois Commerce Commission. Prior to joining the IPA, Brian was a Vice President with the strategic consulting firm of Tur Partners LLC working to incubate a startup low-profit, limited liability company (L3C) focused on cleantech adoption by municipal governments. Brian is a former board member of the Illinois Environmental Council and Green Economy Chicago, and presently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Clean Energy States Alliance Board of Directors. Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Iowa and a juris doctor degree from New York University School of Law.
Lesley has worked in the solar industry for over eight years in operations and has served in the role of management for several of those years. Lesley’s state experience demonstrates a knowledge of local regulations and requirements with an ability to proactively solve issues to achieve the best possible outcomes. Lesley is making connections and developing relationships that will serve the Commonwealth.
NORTHEAST REGIONAL DIRECTOR
Kate previously served as Director of Policy for Catalyze, an innovative energy services partner and independent power producer (IPP) accelerating the transition to the renewable energy economy by creating new profit opportunities for commercial and industrial real estate owners. Prior to Catalyze, she was a Consultant with Sustainable Energy Advantage where she conducted policy and market analyses of the renewable energy sector in the Northeast, and supported public sector clients in clean energy program design and implementation. She was also previously part of the team that runs the Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE) out of the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center.
As Chief Strategy Officer, John is responsible for the advancement of Nexamp’s market-driven growth initiatives, targeted market expansion assessment, and long-term product evolution. Currently, he oversees the implementation of multiple core corporate initiatives, including M&A, project acquisitions from a growing network of channel partners, and regulatory engagement across the Company’s active project development markets.
John joined Nexamp in 2009 and supported a variety of business units prior to joining the executive team, including market development, energy sales, asset management, and project finance. He was also responsible for the internal development and launch of Nexamp’s industry-leading community solar product offering.
John earned his B.A. from Colby College. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Solar Energy Industries Association.
Michelle focuses her practice on energy and environmental law, with a particular emphasis on renewable generation and emerging technologies. She represents renewable developers in all aspects of project development and siting, including navigating the regulatory process under Article 10 of the New York Public Service Law and the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA). Michelle also counsels clients through the interconnection process with local distribution utilities and the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO).
In the environmental arena, Michelle represents corporate and individual clients on a wide range of matters involving permitting, regulatory compliance, civil and administrative enforcement, and dispute resolution. Her environmental permitting and regulatory compliance experience spans issues involving air emissions, wastewater and stormwater discharges, wetlands, zoning and land use matters, and the Mined Land Reclamation Law.
Meier started her career in serving clean energy clients at McKinsey and Company. Her expertise in energy storage dates back to work for Southern California Edison’s strategic planning group where, in 2011, she co-wrote a white paper on the full value chain of applications of energy storage from end use customers to grid-scale applications.
Nick is Co-Founder and President of SYSO Technologies. Nick co-founded SYSO because the clean energy revolution must be accelerated to keep more fossil fuels in the ground.
Prior to SYSO Nick spent 5 years with BlueWave Solar where he led the development and launch of the technology platform for BlueWave Finance Group’s Solar Loan and Community Solar business lines. Under Nick’s direction the platform evolved from concept to a position of established market leadership.
Prior to BlueWave, Nick was President & COO of Greenwich Energy Solutions where he built a technical team and established their energy efficiency consulting and project management business lines. Nick expanded GES’ offerings into energy management, energy efficiency, and infrastructure projects throughout New York City and the tri-state area. This expansion led to both significant growth in revenue for GES and cost and carbon savings for its clients.
Prior to GES Nick spent 5 years with SourceOne Energy (a Veolia Company) where he established and led their carbon management practice and advanced through several positions in project management and business development.
Nick earned his B.S. from the University of Michigan and his M.S. from Stanford University in Energy Resources Engineering. Nick lives with his wife and three children in Amherst, MA.
Eric Paul, Executive Director, Origination. Eric leads the origination team, focused on the acquisition of development-stage distributed generation projects from development and EPC partners. He has more than a decade of experience acquiring, developing, and financing distributed solar projects across the United States. Prior to joining Nautilus, Eric held a variety of business development positions at Green Charge Networks (now Engie Storage), SunEdison, and Ecoplexus.
Eric holds a BA in Economics from Carleton College and an MBA from the University of Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
Mike Marsch is Chief Development Officer at BlueWave. Joining BlueWave in June 2013, Mike built and managed BlueWave's Solar Project Development and Construction team from the ground up as the company grew from tiny startup to nationally-recognized impact company. He also personally managed development of 60+ MW of ground-mounted PV projects, including two of the first community solar projects in MA and one of the largest solar projects in the Commonwealth. From 2018-2020 Mike led BlueWave's community solar services business, now branded Perch Energy, from initial revenue to successful spinout from BlueWave. Mike now oversees all project development at BlueWave including solar, energy storage, and a sustainability team dedicated to dual-use and agrivoltaics.
Prior to joining BlueWave, Mike focused on real estate in his native Southern California, most recently as principal at of Beckett Holdings, a firm he founded while in business school to capitalize on development opportunities in the multifamily sector. Earlier in his career, Mike was a Development Associate with The Ratkovich Company, a highly respected Los Angeles‐area developer, and was intimately involved in the acquisition, development, and management of over $500 million of residential opportunities with Briarwood Capital, a San Diego developer with over $1 billion of completed projects and a focus on master‐planned golf communities.
Mr. Marsch holds a BA from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he was named the John S. Long Outstanding Student in Real Estate. He is passionate about environmental sustainability and is an active volunteer with organizations seeking to reduce human impact on the world’s oceans.
As President and Chief Legal Officer at Solar Landscape, Mark Schottinger oversees the company's transactions (including leases, power purchase agreements, and financing), project development, regulatory matters, and public policy. Prior to joining Solar Landscape, Mark practiced law at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Washington, DC. He earned his law and undergraduate degrees from the University of Virginia. Mark grew up in New Jersey with Solar Landscape’s founders and is passionate about bringing clean energy to low-income communities.
Karli is an associate in the Century City office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she is a member of the firm’s energy and climate solutions practice. Her practice focuses on advising clients across the climate technology space, including solar, wind, energy storage, energy efficiency, grid services, electric vehicle charging, carbon capture and storage, decarbonization processes, water efficiency, and recycling. She has also worked on key commercial contracts for the development of data centers in the United States.
She counsels developers and investors on project development and project finance of renewable energy and energy storage projects in the utility-scale, commercial and industrial, and residential sectors, including negotiating power purchase agreements (virtual and physical), engineering, procurement and construction contracts, service agreements, and debt and tax equity financing agreements. Karli’s practice also includes joint ventures, growth equity financings, portfolio acquisitions, as well as venture financings and general corporate matters for startup clients in the space.
Prior to joining the firm, Karli was an associate at Milbank LLP in Los Angeles, where she represented lenders and tax equity investors in project finance transactions in the renewable energy space. She now uses her experience to advise her developer clients on the financeability of key project documents, and on the application of the project finance model to technologies beyond traditional renewable energy.

She previously deployed solar microgrids, lanterns, and home systems in India and Pakistan. Prior to renewables, she managed field operations on the Obama campaign and developed policy at the White House National Security Council. She was selected as EY New England’s Entrepreneur of the Year, C3E’s Entrepreneur Award, Inc Magazine’s Female Founder 100, and Elle’s US Woman Entrepreneur of the Year. She holds degrees from Yale, Princeton, and MIT.
Joel Gamoran is an energy industry veteren and foundational leader within the community solar market. At Arcadia, Joel has overseen the company's community solar business since it launched in 2016. Joelsetsthe company's community solar strategy and manages the commercial teamsservingArcadia's client base of clean energy asset developers, owners, and operators. Joel brings deep expertise in consumer energy products and services, market expansion, utility program design and operations — including best practice for supporting residential, low-to-moderate income, and commercial customer. Joel also serves on the Executive Advisory Group for the Coalition for Community Solar Access (CCSA) trade association.
Prior to joining Arcadia, Joel led operations and business development at Yeloha, a 2016 Webby Award winner and Fast Company World Changing Idea of 2015. Before that, Joel led regulatory affairs for the energy efficiencysoftware division of C3.ai. Earlier in his career, Joel worked as a Senior Analyst for NERA Economic Consulting, where he supported oil and gas clients. Joel holds a B.A. in Economics with honorfrom Washington University in St. Louis.
Mr. Marrone has over a decade of experience in the development and finance of renewable energy projects with almost two decades of experience representing private and public companies including several on the Fortune 100. Ryan has led the development of over 750 MWs of commercial and industrial solar installations in 29 states and closed on project financings totaling in excess of $1.5 billion dollars. Ryan is currently the President of Solops, LLC a premiere developer and finance company in the solar C&I space which he co-founded in 2010. He most recently served as the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Onyx Renewable Partners L.P. the exclusive renewable energy investment company for global giant The Blackstone Group (NYSE: BX). Prior to Solops, Ryan practiced law with a concentration in general corporate, renewable energy, finance and real estate. He previously served as General Counsel for Heller Industrial Parks, one of the largest private owners of industrial property in the United States with over one billion in net assets. As General Counsel for Heller he developed and implemented a business model for the design, build, operation, and maintenance of solar installations on industrial buildings.
Ryan received a BA in English and Political Science from Seton Hall University and a JD from Widener University School of Law. He has lectured on the solar industry and provided testimony before the New Jersey Senate Energy Committee on the New Jersey Solar market. Ryan currently serves on the Board of Trustees of RWJ/Barnabus University Hospital-Hamilton.
Brit has three years’ experience managing community solar portfolios on behalf of leading community solar developers and owner/operators in 16 states. Her experience spans management of commercial and residential customers in over 80 gardens nationally, including subscriber billing, utility interface, and client services. Prior to Pivot Energy, Brit worked at Clean Energy Collective and Navigant Consulting and holds a degree in International Relations from the University of Colorado.
Ariel Kalishman Walsh works with community solar developers and asset owners in need of Solstice's customer acquisition and management services and helping them sell RECs to corporate buyers. Previously she was Director of Enterprise Partnerships at BlocPower, selling building decarbonization software and services to utilities, cities and corporate clients. Ariel has worked in impact-driven roles across multiple industries, has an MBA in Sustainability from Bard College and BA from the University of Texas at Austin
Abhi Parmar leads the Origination, Finance, and Deal Structuring group at Altus Power. He is responsible for leading the origination, negotiation, due diligence, and transaction processes of Altus’ solar assets. Origination includes both self-developed projects, late-stage development projects and operating project / portfolio acquisitions. Abhi is also responsible for managing the capital markets activities at Altus Power including senior and junior debt instruments, tax equity, and other capital sources available to the company.
Working to understand and combat the impacts of climate change has been a central tenant of Karleen’s career starting with her climate science studies as an undergraduate. Now a senior legal and business adviser to sustainable and clean energy industry clients, Karleen provides strategic guidance and legal counseling to companies, investors, developers, and IPPs, helping them to execute successfully on business strategy while managing risk.
Karleen’s expertise includes sustainable energy development, joint venture partnerships, financing, construction and operations, policy and procedure development, and contract review and management. Her background spans legal and business roles for global renewable energy developers, startups, and law firms. Over the course of her career, she provided legal and strategic guidance in the development, construction, and operation of over ten gigawatts of solar and wind utility scale projects, as well as over two gigawatts of C&I and behind-the-meter solar and solar and storage projects.
Karleen has extensive experience in negotiating and drafting project contracts for utility-scale and C&I solar, wind, and battery storage projects. She served as in house counsel at Fotowatio Renewable Ventures and SunEdison, and previously worked at the law firms Winston & Strawn and Stoel Rives.
Outside of work hours, Karleen tries to spend as much time as possible outside with her family. Together they enjoy hiking, camping, biking, and being in the mountains.
Mr. Redinger manages KeyBanc Capital Markets (KBCM) North America Utility, Power and Renewable Energy Practice. With more than 20 years of energy experience, Mr. Redinger has provided specialized investment banking services to some of North America’s largest utility and renewable energy companies. Under his leadership, KBCM has built a national utility, power and renewable energy practice, committed over $5.0 billion of KBCM’s balance sheet to utility and renewable energy clients, successfully advised numerous utility and renewable energy companies in private capital raises, acquisitions and divestiture assignments and structured and financed over 3.0 GW of renewable energy projects.
Mr. Redinger received a B.S. degree in Economics from Purdue University and holds an MBA in Finance from Loyola University.
Bryen Alperin joined Foss & Company in November of 2017 and became a shareholder in 2023. As Managing Director, Mr. Alperin leads all aspects of the investment, origination, and asset management process for renewable energy and sustainability funds. Prior to joining Foss & Company, Mr. Alperin worked in commercial banking and led debt financing for a broad range of middle market businesses and commercial projects. Mr. Alperin earned his BA in Economics magna cum laude from the University of California, Davis, and has an Executive Certification in Sustainable Capitalism & ESG from the University of California, Berkeley. He is based out of our Denver office.
John has 25 years experience in the Energy and Power industry in various roles spanning finance, capital markets, corporate development, treasury and strategy. For the last 7 years, he held senior positions in the distributed solar and battery storage sector.
Vaughn represents financing parties, utility companies, and sponsors in the development, construction, financing and operational management of, primarily, renewable energy projects. Having guided many projects through their life cycle, Vaughn offers clients uncommon foresight and acumen.
In his role as Chief Investment Officer, Jamie is responsible for the underwriting, project finance and capital market needs of the business. He has raised over $2B of project capital for the business. Jamie is responsible for closing and funding all project level financing, establishing financial parameters for origination and underwriting the project pipeline to investor and market requirements, in addition to asset management.
Jamie brings a wealth of experience and an entrepreneurial mindset, having transacted over $3B of tax and cash equity while at GE Capital - Energy Financial Services where he was most recently VP, Capital Markets. Prior to business school Jamie co-founded and led two startups, including a renewable energy trading business that was subsequently sold. Jamie first joined GE in the Experienced Commercial Leadership Program in 2015 working on the GE Solar team’s first portfolio financing.
Jamie graduated from Skidmore College where he was co-captain of the lacrosse team and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School. He lives with his wife and three daughters in Larchmont, NY and is based in New York City.
Thomas is Director of Business Development & Partnerships at Calibrant Energy, where he focuses on Calibrant’s commercial strategies and project origination in the Americas. Prior to joining Calibrant, Thomas served as Chief Commercial Officer at Kenyon Energy where he was responsible for establishing partnerships with developers and EPCs nationwide while overseeing all activities related to business development and strategy. Thomas was previously a Vice President at Bay4 Energy, a Board Member at the Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI) and is currently an active member in the CREO Syndicate. Thomas graduated magna cum laude from Rollins College with a B.A. in international business and earned an MBA from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins with dual concentrations in finance and entrepreneurship.
Jorge Vargas has over fifteen years of experience in development, operations and principal investments of renewable energy projects. Jorge has developed, acquired, financed, and constructed projects and structured joint ventures across all verticals of the solar industry, including: Utility, Residential, C&I and Community Solar domestically and internationally. Jorge is a Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Aspen Power.
Most recently, Jorge served as a Board Member of PearlX Infrastructure, a smart grid infrastructure platform that was acquired by Antin Infrastructure. Prior to this role, he was an Operating Partner at Energy Impact Partners, a leading venture capital firm focused on the clean energy transition. Jorge held senior roles at Spear Point Energy and PFMG Solar, as well as led the sale of PFMG Solar, a leading C&I California based developer, to Constellation New Energies a subsidiary of Exelon Corporation. In addition, Jorge sold Spear Point Energy’s portfolio of operating solar assets to Goldman Sachs Renewable Power. Jorge was also an Executive Vice President and Country Manager at AMP Solar Group where he led AMP’s entry into the US Solar Market. Prior to that, he was the Co-Head of the Solar Desk at Morgan Stanley Commodities where he focused on origination and project financing of principal investments in solar projects deploying Morgan Stanley Commodities balance sheet. Jorge started his solar career at Lennar Corporation where he pioneered the New Home Residential Solar PPA in California. Prior to these roles, Jorge was an investment banker at Bank of America and JP Morgan.
As Chief Investment Officer, Melinda oversees all aspects of CleanCapital’s legal affairs, including structuring, negotiating, and implementing the company’s investment strategies, as well as the structuring and execution of capital markets transactions.
She began her career in the non-profit sector, advocating for clean energy legislation with the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG). In 2008, she switched gears to practice law; first as an attorney at Chadbourne & Parke and later at global law firm White & Case. Her extensive legal experience has centered on representing investors and developers in energy financing transactions, including several award-winning and innovative deals. Melinda is a graduate of Colgate University and Fordham Law School.
Kevin Panzica is a Senior Vice President of Business Development at Fundamental Renewables. Prior to joining Fundamental Renewables in 2021, Mr. Panzica served in the same capacity at MMA Energy Capital. Mr. Panzica has over 17 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, including raising construction and permanent capital for solar project developers, as well as leading investments in solar and wind projects for a large regional bank. During his career, Mr. Panzica has been involved in the financing of more than $2 billion of solar and wind projects. Prior to joining MMA Energy Capital, Mr. Panzica worked for some of the leading companies in the renewable energy space, including MMA Renewable Ventures, Union Bank and SunEdison. Mr. Panzica received his M.B.A from Boston College and his B.S. in Finance from the University at Buffalo.
Mr. Eastwick is a Managing Director at Javelin where he focuses on renewable energy transaction origination and execution. Prior to joining Javelin Capital, Mr. Eastwick was the Chief Investment Officer for CleanCapital, having led ~$500 million of investment into distributed renewable energy projects. Earlier in his career he held various leadership positions at Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch & Co and Global Environment Fund. He graduated from Princeton University with a BA in economics.
